Who asks for tax advice
Most companies only think about tax when the return is due. Advice is most useful earlier: before a new contract, a new project, or a change in how the business is owned or run.
A health check suits companies that have never had their tax position reviewed, or that expect questions from the General Tax Authority. It shows where the gaps are while there is still time to fix them.
What we do
Advice comes in six parts. You choose what you need.
How Qatar tax applies
We look at your activities and ownership and explain which taxes and filings apply.
Tax health check
We review your returns, records and payments for risks before a General Tax Authority audit.
Permanent establishment risk
For foreign companies, we check whether work in Qatar could create a taxable presence.
New projects and contracts
We review the tax side of a project or contract before you commit to it.
Exemptions
We check whether an exemption could apply to your company and what it needs.
Double tax treaties
We check whether a treaty between Qatar and another country affects your tax.
We do not provide tax consultancy to companies whose financial statements we audit. Filing and representation responsibilities are agreed separately before work starts.

Common questions about tax advisory and health check
Answers about the service, the work involved and what to prepare. Open a question to read more.
What does a tax advisor in Qatar do?
Tax advisors explain how Qatar tax law applies to your business and help you meet it. For a company, an income tax advisor or corporate tax accountant also reviews the corporate income tax computation and the withholding tax on payments abroad. That covers which taxes and filings apply, the tax effect of new contracts and projects, exemptions and tax treaties. A good advisor also spots risks early, so they can be fixed before the General Tax Authority asks about them.
What is a tax health check?
A tax health check is a review of your company’s tax position before the tax authority looks at it. We go through your returns, records, contracts and payments to find gaps, errors and risks. You get a written list of what we found and what to do about each point, in order of importance.
What is permanent establishment risk for a foreign company?
A permanent establishment is a taxable presence a foreign company can create in another country through the way it works there, for example through an office, a site or people working locally. If it exists, profits linked to it can be taxed in Qatar. We look at how you work here and tell you where the risk lies.
Can a double tax treaty reduce my tax in Qatar?
It can, depending on the treaty, the type of income and whether the conditions in the treaty are met. Each treaty is worded differently, so the answer for one country does not carry over to another. We read the treaty that applies to your case and tell you what it changes and what records you need to rely on it.
When should I get tax advice on a new contract?
Before you sign. The way a contract is set up can affect who pays tax, whether tax is withheld on payments and whether a foreign party has a taxable presence in Qatar. Changing terms after signing is harder. Send us the draft and we review the tax points with you.
