Who must file a corporate income tax return
Every company subject to the Income Tax Law files a return each year, including companies that have no tax to pay.
Qualifying Qatari or GCC ownership can give an income tax exemption, but an exempt company still has filing obligations. Whether audited accounts are needed also depends on ownership, residence and the applicable filing requirements.
What we do
From the first computation to filing on Dhareeba, the work comes in six parts. You choose what you need.
Tax computation
We work out taxable income from your accounts and reconcile it to the accounting profit.
Return and schedules
We prepare the return and the schedules the Executive Regulations ask for.
Filing support on Dhareeba
We take you through submission on the portal. The return is signed by your company or its registered tax agent.
Returns with no tax due
For Qatari and GCC-owned companies and others that are exempt but must still file.
Extension requests
We prepare the request and the reasons, at least 60 days before the deadline.
Paying any tax due
We help you settle the invoice Dhareeba issues. The payment is made by your company.
If we audit your financial statements, we do not also act for you before the General Tax Authority on the same accounts. The Executive Regulations keep these roles apart.

Common questions about corporate income tax return
Answers about the service, the work involved and what to prepare. Open a question to read more.
How do I file an income tax return in Qatar?
You file on the General Tax Authority’s Dhareeba portal. Log in to your taxpayer account, open the tax return section and complete the approved form. Review the figures, submit the return and accept the terms. Dhareeba then issues an invoice for any tax due, which you pay. Companies with nothing to pay still file.
What documents are needed for a tax return in Qatar?
Where audited accounts are required, the Executive Regulations list the financial statements (financial position, profit or loss, changes in equity, cash flows and notes) with the auditor’s report. Schedules are added for depreciation, tax withheld at source, subcontractors, related-party transactions, fixed assets and how taxable income was worked out from the accounting profit.
What is the corporate income tax rate in Qatar?
The standard corporate income tax rate is 10% of taxable income. Petroleum operations and petrochemical industries are subject to special rules with a minimum rate of 35%. Qualifying Qatari or GCC ownership can give an exemption, subject to the relevant conditions. Large multinational groups must also assess Qatar’s minimum tax rules. A tax exemption does not automatically remove the duty to file.
What is the deadline for filing?
The normal deadline is four months after the tax year ends: 30 April for a December year end. A reasoned individual extension request must reach the GTA at least 60 days before the deadline and can seek up to four additional months. Check GTA announcements for your tax year too, because a general extension may change the deadline for eligible taxpayers.
Do small companies need audited accounts for the tax return?
Size alone does not decide this. The GTA’s investor guidance requires audited accounts for mixed or foreign-owned companies regardless of size. For eligible wholly Qatari or GCC-owned companies, it gives capital of at least QAR 1 million or annual income of at least QAR 5 million. Ownership, residence and filing status need checking alongside the regulations. Company-law audit duties are separate.
What happens if I file late?
Late filing costs QAR 500 for each day of delay, up to QAR 180,000. Late payment of tax adds 2% of the tax due for each month or part of a month, capped at the tax itself. An exempt company that does not file its return and documents faces a QAR 10,000 penalty in addition to the daily late filing penalty.
