Who needs to close a company properly
Owners who have stopped trading, groups closing a subsidiary or branch they no longer need, and partners who have agreed to end a company together.
A company that simply stops trading is not closed. Until it is liquidated and its registrations and tax file are cancelled, obligations can carry on. Closing it properly gives the owners a clean end.

Common questions about liquidation and company closure
Answers about the service, the work involved and what to prepare. Open a question to read more.
How do I close a company in Qatar?
Closing a company is a series of steps. The partners agree to dissolve it and a liquidator is appointed. The liquidation is announced, assets are collected, debts are paid and final accounts are prepared. Then the commercial registration, trade licence and tax file are cancelled. We support each step and prepare the final accounts.
What is the difference between dissolution and liquidation?
Dissolution is the decision that the company will end. Liquidation is the process that follows: the liquidator collects what the company is owed, sells or distributes its assets, pays its debts and prepares final accounts. Only when liquidation is complete and the registrations are cancelled is the company fully closed.
Why does a liquidation need a public notice?
The notice tells people the company is being liquidated, so creditors who are owed money can come forward before the company closes. It helps make sure debts are known and settled during the liquidation rather than surfacing later. We help you arrange the notice and keep a record of any claims that come in.
Do I need final accounts to close a company?
Yes. Final accounts show what the company owned and owed, how assets were realised and debts paid, and what remains for the owners. They also support the last tax filings. If the books are behind, they need bringing up to date first. As an accounting firm, we prepare the final accounts ourselves.
Is it enough to stop trading and cancel the trade licence?
No. A company that stops trading still exists until it is liquidated and its commercial registration and tax file are cancelled. Leaving it open can mean filings and obligations continue. Closing it through the full process gives the owners a clear end. We take you through each step.
