Most compliance problems in Qatar are not about complex rules. They are about dates: a withholding tax statement filed a day late, a tax return left until the last week, or audited accounts that are not ready when the Ministry and the partners should receive them.
This calendar brings the main 2027 dates together for a company whose financial year ends on 31 December 2026. Each date comes from the law or an official GTA document, and the source is given.
Two cautions apply throughout. The General Tax Authority (GTA) sometimes announces a general extension of the tax return deadline, but none had been announced for the 2026 tax year when this calendar was prepared. And no official rule was found that moves a deadline falling on a weekend or public holiday, so plan for the last working day before it.
- Tax return due

- Withholding tax: tax withheld from payments to non-resident suppliers is paid with the GTA statement before the 16th day of the following month, so by the 15th (Income Tax Executive Regulations Article 24). See withholding tax in Qatar.
- Salaries: wages are paid monthly by bank transfer through the Wage Protection System (Labour Law Article 66), within the payment period set by the Ministry of Labour’s rules.
- Commercial registration: apply to renew in the 30 days before your own registration expires (Commercial Register Law Article 5). There is no common date.

The tax return: 30 April 2027
The corporate income tax return for 2026 is due within four months of the year end, on 30 April 2027, and any tax is paid on the day the return is filed (Executive Regulations Article 29; Income Tax Law Article 20). Every company registered with the GTA files, including companies whose income is fully exempt.
30 April 2027 is a Friday. No rule was found that moves the deadline to the next working day, so plan to file by Thursday 29 April. An individual extension of up to four months must be requested by 1 March 2027 (Article 30).
The GTA extended the deadline for the 2024 tax year to 31 August 2025 and for the 2025 tax year to 30 June 2026. Those were announcements for specific years, not a rule, so do not assume one for 2026. See how to file a corporate income tax return.
Company law: accounts and general assembly
For a limited liability company, the managers prepare the annual accounts within two months of the year end and send them, with the auditor’s report, to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and each partner within one month after that (Commercial Companies Law Article 251). The general assembly meets within four months, with invitations sent by registered letter at least 21 days before (Article 250).
In practice, that means the audit report is needed by the end of March, not the end of April. Our audit preparation checklist works through the timeline.
Dates that apply only to larger groups
Companies with turnover or total assets of QAR 10 million or more that deal with related parties file a transfer pricing declaration with the tax return (GTA Resolution 4/2020). Where turnover or total assets reach QAR 50 million and a group company is resident outside Qatar, the master file and local file are also due, by 30 June 2027.
Groups headquartered in Qatar with revenue of QAR 3 billion or more file a country-by-country report on the Tabadol portal. Pillar Two (global minimum tax) applies to multinational groups with revenue of EUR 750 million or more, and the GTA’s guide sets 30 June 2027 for several first-cycle filings.
Public holidays and weekends in 2027
The working week is Sunday to Thursday (Amiri Decision No. 57 of 2025). Several 2027 deadlines fall on a Friday or Saturday: 15 January, 30 April, 15 May and 15 October.
- National Sports Day: Tuesday 9 February
- Eid al-Fitr: expected around 7 to 13 March, subject to the moon sighting and the official announcement
- Eid al-Adha: expected around 15 to 19 May, subject to the moon sighting and the official announcement
- National Day: Saturday 18 December
Private sector employers follow the paid holidays in Article 78 of the Labour Law. Banks close for the Eid holidays, which can affect salary transfers and tax payments made by bank transfer.
What is not on the calendar yet
E-invoicing has no start date. The Cabinet approved a draft law on 6 May 2026, but the law has not been issued. See e-invoicing in Qatar. Qatar has no VAT in force.
Your ICV certificate, if you supply the energy sector, and your tax card follow their own expiry dates rather than a common calendar date. See ICV certificate in Qatar.
What to do next
Copy the dates that apply to your company into your own calendar, and set reminders a few working days before each one, especially where the date falls on a weekend. We update this calendar when the GTA announces the filing period for the 2026 tax year or any change.
To discuss your company’s deadlines for the year ahead, see our tax services and audit and assurance pages, or request a proposal.
Frequently asked questions
When is the corporate tax return due in Qatar in 2027?
For a financial year ending 31 December 2026, the return and payment are due by 30 April 2027, four months after the year end. That date is a Friday, so plan to file by Thursday 29 April.
Will the GTA extend the 2027 tax return deadline?
No extension had been announced for the 2026 tax year when this calendar was prepared. Extensions for 2024 and 2025 were announced for those years only, so check the GTA’s notices rather than assume one.
Is withholding tax due by the 15th or the 16th?
The Executive Regulations require payment before the 16th day of the following month (Article 24), so the last day is the 15th. Some summaries say “by the 16th”, which is one day late.
When must LLC audited accounts go to the Ministry?
The managers prepare the accounts within two months of the year end and send them, with the auditor’s report, within one month after that (Commercial Companies Law Article 251). For a 31 December year end, that means by 31 March at the latest.
What happens if a deadline falls on a Friday or a holiday?
No official rule was found that moves the deadline. Plan for the last working day before it.
When are excise tax returns due in Qatar?
Excise returns are quarterly and due within 15 days after the end of each quarter: 15 January, 15 April, 15 July and 15 October. Pay the tax by the return deadline, and no later than the day you file the return (Excise Law Article 7; Regulations Article 22 as amended in 2026).
